Why Don’t You Just Exercise?
Exercising is not that complicated – you just get up and do it, right? I mean, literally all you have to do is lace up your sneakers and pick up those dumbbells or step outside and drive to the gym. The time it takes to go from not doing it to doing it is like 15 seconds. Or even less if you already have your shoes on!
So, WHY DON’T YOU?
Turns out it’s not that simple, right?
Maybe you’ve failed so many times it feels pointless
…or maybe you’re embarrassed to even try
…maybe you just can’t seem to make time for it
…maybe you don’t see the results you want fast enough
…or maybe it actually hurts your body.
Or maybe your past experiences with exercise are all tangled up with body shame and crash dieting and manic obsession and a version of yourself you have NO desire to return to.
There’s a lot of STUFF to unpack.
It’s the form of self-care we all know is so important, yet SO MANY of us struggle with.
I speak from experience. My relationship with movement has been a roller coaster with all the dips and swirls and huge steep hills and upside down loops you could possibly imagine. I’ve gone from being completely worn out after vacuuming the living room to running half marathons with ease to injuring myself with rigid training regimes to sitting on a park bench sobbing uncontrollably because my body was literally rebelling and I just couldn’t force myself to do it anymore.
I know how hard it can be, and all the baggage that comes with it.
I know what it feels like to be stuck on the sofa feeling completely hopeless.
And I know what it feels like to sweat my butt off and still not look the way I wanted to.
And I also know what it feels like to be stuck in such a rigid routine that any deviation is an immediate landslide into failure and self-loathing and giving up completely.
But I also know that it’s possible to stop going round and round with yourself about what to do and when to do it and how much is enough and whether today’s the day and just be the kind of person who exercises regularly (without needing to tell everyone about it🤭).
Look, I don’t know what kind of exercise you need or want to do. And I’m not going to give you advice about heart-rate or reps or steps or triceps.
What I will do is help you go from being the kind of person who dreads or hates or avoids exercise, to the kind of person who can do it regularly and easily without a bunch of drama.
I will help you cut through all the mental noise and build a routine you can stick with for the long-term.
If that sounds good, email me and let’s chat about it, or go here and sign up.
Love, Teddey
